LOCAL YOUTH DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL SET CALENDAR OF ACTIVITIES FOR “LINGGO NG KABATAAN 2023”

The Local Youth Development Council announced the kind of activities that are expected for the ‘Linggo ng Kabataan 2023,’ which was held at the City Hall last August 7, 2023. The Linggo ng Kabataan Calendar of Activities 2023 has been unveiled, with the City Social and Welfare
Development Office (CSWD) and the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation (SK Federation) taking the lead. One of the events included in the calendar is the “Harvesting Hope: Root Crops for Community Development” activity hosted by the Rotary Club of Baguio Highlands has also been
concluded.

There are several upcoming events for the youth in Baguio City over the coming weeks. The Cordillera Youth Leaders, Youth for Peace, and CSWD will be conducting the “Peace Building and Security Youth Summit” at BENECO Hall from August 11-13. The same venue for the activity “Baguio Youth Parlament” which is going to be hosted by CSWD and SK Federation on August 13 and the activity “Kabayanihan ng Kabataan Forum” by OSCAR Alumni Community Inc. and CSWD to be held on August 29.

Meanwhile, the SK Federation is expected to lead the activity “Y-Build Baguio: Intensive Leadership Program” at Baguio Cultural and Convention Center’s Multipurpose Hall on August
11,12,19,20, and September 4. The Anxiety and Depression Support Group and CSWD will also be using the same venue for their activity, Mental Health Seminar, to be held on August 27 in addition to the Culminating Activity by CSWD and the Local Youth Development Council.

(LYDC) on September 1. Additionally, there will be a “Linggo ng Kabataan Parade” on August 12 at Session Road, organized by the LYDC. There is also a Color Fun Run headed by the Boy Scouts of the Philippines and Sulong Bayan at Lake Drive, Burnham Park on August 19 as well as the Volleyball League Activity from August 19-21 by the United Volleyball. The SK Federation is also organizing an Amazing Race Activity on August 25.

Pinoy games will also be played for the activity like Larong Lahi (by LYDC), Tug of War, Kadang-Kadang, Kite Flying, Sipa, TOP, Patintero, Sack Race, Luksong Tinik, Jack Stone, Tumbang Preso (by Girl Scout of the Philippines), 3×3 Basketball, Billiards (by SK Federation), Darts Competition
(by SK and Cordillera Darts League) on August 26. Lastly, the “Youth Gala: Awarding of 10 Outstanding Youth Leaders and Organizations 2022” will be hosted by the SK Federation on
September 4, the last day of the Linggo ng Kabataan 2023.
