LT crime rate drops

 
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Crime incidents in the municipality has dropped considerably during 2016 compared to the number of crime incidents monitored in 2015.
In a report from La Trinidad Municipal Police Station, the 2,580 total crime volume in 2015 dropped to 2,174 in 2016, showing a 406 decrease in crime incidents or about 15.74 percent drop.
Index crimes such as theft, physical injuries, robbery, carnapping and rape were down by 42 or about 73.68 percent in January 2017 compared to the same period last year. From the 57 recorded cases in January 2016, incidents monitored this year dropped to 15.
Non-index crimes, including violence against women and children and other special laws, also decreased from 128 of January 2016 to 113 this year or about 11.72 percent drop.
The third highest number of crime recorded was robbery. In 2015, the number recorded was 98 which dropped to 79 in 2016.
