LU cops warn quarantine violators

Quarantine violators in San Fernando City, La Union provincial capital, were warned they will be taken to the jail and face charges.
This as San Fernando City was placed on ECQ until July 31 after a spike in COVID19 cases in the area prompting the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force approving the request to revert it back to ECQ.
Ilocos region police Brigadier General Rodolfo Azurin Jr., said policemen will be strict in implementing the ECQ guidelines especially on social distancing, wearing of face masks
and curfew hours.
While La Union policemen will also assist in the contact tracing. “Personnel at the police station (San Fernando City) will be part of the team in contact tracing together with the health workers.”
Azurin continued, “expect the police to be stricter in manning the streets and checkpoints amid the rising number of COVID cases in the province.”
He though encouraged help to frontliners in battling COVID-19 by staying inside your homes, wearing face-masks, and observing proper hygiene.”
Quarantine Checkpoints were already placed in all entry and exit points of San Fernando City and reinforced ECQ guidelines in all business establishments in the city.
