In a heartfelt celebration of community, leadership, and character-building, Lubas Elementary School conducted its annual Boy Scout and Girl Scout Investiture Ceremony on December 19, 2024, welcoming a new generation of scouts into the storied tradition of service, camaraderie, and adventure. Held in the school’s gymnasium, the event was attended by pupils, parents, and teachers, all united in their support of the scouting movement. The ceremony began with a prayer followed by the presentation of colors, as both the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts marched in formation, proudly bearing their flags.
The national anthem was sung in reverence, setting a tone of unity and pride for the occasion. Ma’am Merlyn L.
Egsaen, Master Teacher 1, in her opening remarks, emphasized the importance of the scouting program in fostering values such as responsibility, teamwork, and respect for others. Following the opening remarks, the highlight of the event unfolded: the official investiture of new members. Boys and girls from grades 4 to 6 stood before the audience, their faces alight with a mix of excitement and nervous anticipation.
Each scout was called forward to receive their official neckerchiefs for boy scouts and pins for girl scouts from their troop leaders, signifying their commitment to the scouting ideals. The institutional head, in the person of Ma’am Esther F. Rizaldo, Principal 1, applauded the new members of the scouts. She also delivered her challenge to the scouts. “Scouts embody the spirit of service and leadership that we need in our society. I am confident that these young individuals will grow to become pillars of our community,” she said. The investiture ceremony at Lubas Elementary School was more than just an event—it was a celebration of potential, a reaffirmation of community values, and a reminder of the boundless possibilities that lie ahead for these young scouts.
