‘MANANG IMEE’ SEES BAGUIO’S FULL BLAST RECOVERY FROM PANDEMIC

BAGUIO CITY (February 26, 2023)

Senator Imee Marcos hailed the determination of Baguio City in reviving its tourism industry badly affected by the lockdowns due to the COVID19 pandemic. Marcos, who attended Sunday’s Grand Float Parade said during Sunday’s program at the Melvin Jones Grandstand said, the economic survivability of all farmers, workers, among others were so much devastated by the restrictions.

She said because of the non-movement or stagnant trade and commerce, the lives of the people were harder. The senator said that all worked their teeth and bones to survive. Though government did not forget its part in the efforts to recovery. Marcos further hailed Baguio City especially its people, in pursuing its rich tradition in holding its yearly “Panagbenga” or the Baguio Flower Festival.

She admired how Baguio City was able to spring back and make it even larger the numbers of visitors that surely boost the full recovery of the tourism industry of Baguio. “Baguio is back!” she exclaimed. The Senator, who profusely thanked Baguio City for being one of the 31M Filipinos who voted his younger brother—President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and recognized there is really a “Solid North”, beprior earlier went to the neighboring town La Trinidad, Benguet to spearhead the distribution of government’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) to Benguet farmers.

She explained, AICS is one of the many services the government is offering to the poor. Sen. Marcos added that government’s continues aid to the poor is in line with her program “Imeesolusyon” or finding solutions in making the life of every Filipinos lighter.
