Mga kandidato hinimok namagsumite ngmga aktibidad ng kampanya

LUNGSOD NG BAGUIO – Inutusan ang mga kandidato na magsumite ng kanilang mga aktibidad ng kampanya na aaprubahan ng isang inter-agency committee bilang bahagi ng mga bagong protocol sa 2022 eleksiyon dahil sa pandemya.
Ginawa ang parehong panawagan ni Commission on Elections Ilocos Assistant Regional Director, Lawyer Reddy Balarbar sa lahat ng mga
kandidato sa Ilocos Region sa isang virtual press conference hapon ng nakaraang Biyernes.
Sinabi ni Balarbar na ang campaign committee ay binubuo ng Department of Health (DOH), Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), at ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
“There will be national, regional, provincial, city or municipal campaign committees that will monitor the campaign activities of the
candidates, and they will approve or disapprove the request of the candidates’ campaign activities,” aniya.
Kasama sa mga aktibidad ng kampanya ang mga pagpupulong, bahay-bahay, at mga motorcade, at iba pa.
Sinabi pa ni Balarbar na ito ay bahagi ng mga bagong protocol na ipatutupad para sa 2022 national at local elections sa gitna ng kasalukuyang pandemya ng coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
“This is also the first time the Comelec will be hiring medical personnel for the voting centers because of the pandemic,” aniya. Idinagdag niya na ihahanda rin ang mga barrier gayundin ang mga isolation areas.
“The barriers are to protect the electoral board from possible infection and the isolation areas are for voters who will exhibit symptoms of the virus,” aniya.
Samantala, magtatalaga ang Ilocos Police Regional Office (PRO-1) ng nasa 5,314 personnel nito upang masiguro ang kapayapaan at kaayusan sa nalalapit na halalan.
Sa parehong forum ay sinabi ni PRO-1DirectorBrig. Gen. Emmanuel Peralta na 2,392 ng kanilang personnel ay itatalaga sa Pangasinan, 832 sa La Union, 1,300 sa Ilocos Sur, at 790 sa Ilocos Norte.
“The number is just the PNP personnel and does not yet include the augmentation from the AFP and Philippine Coast Guard, so we are still finalizing the deployment,” aniya.
Ang mga bayan lamang ng Balaoan at Agoo sa La Union ang isinailalim sa hot spot areas dahil sa karahasang may kaugnayan sa eleksiyon na nangyari noong 2018, ani Peralta.
