Mild Tremor Jolt Baguio, Benguet Capital

La Trinidad, Benguet (April 4, 2021)–  Residents of La Trinidad and Baguio City felt a slight tremor early morning on Easter Sunday.
According to the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Volcanology and Seismology (PhiVolcS), a 3.8 magnitude earthquake was recorded at 16.47°N, 120.66°E – 007 km N 76° E of La Trinidad ,Benguet.
The tectonic originating earth movement was felt at 6:40 AM and had a depth of 9 kilometers.
PhiVolcs said there were aftershocks and no damages expected.
Minutes earlier, at 6:33 AM also Easter Sunday, PhiVolcs recorded a 2.1 magnitude jolt at 18.98°N, 121.48°E – 018 km N 39° E of Fuga Island of Aparri, Cagayan.  It was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 005 kilometers. There were no reported aftershocks and damages.
The public is reminded by the authorities to stay calm and alert at the same time. They are told that when shaking is felt do the Duck-Cover-Hold and stay away from objects that may easily fall or break.
