NBI-CAR TO DOUBLE EFFORTS VERSUS DRUGS, CYBERCRIMES, FINANCIAL SCAMS

Lawyer Diosdado M. Araos taking over the helm of the National Bureau of Investigation -Cordillera Administrative Region (NBI-CAR) as Regional Director promises more aggressive efforts against illegal drugs, cybercrimes, financial scams plaguing the highland region. Atty. Araos, climbing up the ladder just a few weeks after being re-assigned as Assistant Regional Director of NBI-CAR from the Nueva Vizcaya District Office as Head Agent, stressed the need for a more aggressive approach on “developed cases” on drugs, cyber-related cases and scams.

Though he promises that NBI investigators will still continue working on complaints received towards their final prosecution. The newly-installed NBI Regional Director, a veteran in the field from NBI-Ilocos Region to NBI-BARMM and NBI-Nueva Vizcaya District Office, Atty. Araos promised to intensify NBI-CAR’s efforts in running after wanted personalities, “with emphasis on subjects issued with warrants of arrest in connection with cases investigated and filed by our Office.”

On the administrative side, Atty. Araos dreams of pursuing the construction of a new DPWH-unded NBI-CAR building initiated by past Regional Directors, while pursuing for the establishment of District and Satellite Offices in the 6 provinces and two cities in the Cordillera region. The new NBI-CAR chief also vows to initiate reforms “within our ranks to further bolster efficient and effective service to the Cordillera people.” Former journalist and Baguio-bred Lawyer Darwin C. Lising, who briefly became NBI-Ilocos Region’s Assistant Region Director after various assignments around the country, teams up with Atty. Araos, as Assistant Regional Director of NBI-CAR.
While Atty. Daganzo was designated as Executive Officer (Ex-O) of the Assistant Director for Comptrollership at the NBI Central Office in Quezon City.
