Department of Transportation Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante and Regional Director Jose Eduardo Natividad show some of the sample of the 35,000 new driver’s licenses and car plates that will be distributed in Baguio City, Ifugao, Abra and Bontoc, Mt. Province, 5,000 for every district. The new licenses have 32 security features against counterfeit. On car plates, the LTO chief said that by April 2018 the new winning bidder will start distributing new car plates. For driver’s license transacted from Dec.19, 2016 to February 2017, the schedule of printing is Nov.22 to December 2017; for March to May 2017 transactions will be printed on January 2018; July to August 2017 will be on February 2018; and September-November 2017 will be on printed on March 2018. Transactions not within the 5-year validity are not included until further notice.
