Candidates, both young and old come up with so many styles, tactics, and strategies that probably go with sleepless nights for their best promotional ideas this upcoming midterm elections.

Every group has surely been on it since last year and the year before. Greetings to former governor and former Benguet Red Cross chairman Nestor Bagtang Fongwan or “The Action Man”.

Greetings also to former Buguias mayor and surgeon Melchor Daguines Diclas or the “Doctor at your Service” in government.

Serving people is never easy. We can never please everyone. Now is the chance to let the people feel the presence of governance.

Some have decided to serve people in their little way by listening to their battle cry: “Benguet is for the People”, like former District 1 Tuba mayor Florence Ventura Bentrez.

Moving on, here is a teacher by profession who is about to complete his term as Board Member. More than aiming for the position, Attorney Johnny Diwas Waguis says it is the right thing to do.

It is a good thing to know that Benguet Province is composed of two districts that consist of 13 municipalities.

I would like to see good old lineage of family like former Itogon councilor Alexander T. Fianza in the Sanguniang Panlalawigan someday, so with the calm like water Norberto I. Pacio.

We also need a woman’s opinion to balance the needs of society, so we have Hanalyn W. Oldico.

For District 2, we have the known broadcaster Fernando Mariano Balaodan and the man with sense Roberto K Canuto. Apolinario T. Camsol and the next “Action Man” Robert Marcos Namoro as well as Attorney Ruben E. Paoad and Sambrano T Soriano are also in the list.

Let us all pray for all candidates running for a position in government that they may serve their countrymen for the betterment of our community as one country, more than money, power and fame.

This is yours truly, Tita Ara Katter (iKit Ng Bayan) always reminding you: “Ti Panagkaykaysa, Mangiwanwan iti Naranyag nga Pagsayaatan.”
