Pasa-Kalye artists brace for Davao, Manila influx in Cor-Min art exchange

Some 33 artists, seven of them from Davao, will be in Baguio for a three-day art exchange between the north and south.
Pasa-Kalye artists play host to these visiting artists from President Rodrigo Duterte’s homeland in the three day arts and culture.
“We are pretty excited in hosting our brother/sister artists and in some way equal or even better the hospitality they showed us when we were there last May,” said Pasa-Kalye convenor Maricar Docyogen.
Last May, some 17 local artists under the Pasa-Kalye program trooped to Davao for the initial Cordillera-Mindanao arts exchange where not only in painting did the two groups made some exchange but also cultural presentation.
This time, the Cordillerans will be hosts to the Tabula Rasa group with the city through the city tourism and promotion and the Department of Tourism-Cordillera as supporter.
Docyogen said that the Davao artists will be joined by 26 Manila based artists too as they tour the city during its Charter Day.
The visitors will be treated with a bonfire and cultural presentations at the Philippine Information Agency grounds/dap-ay on Sept. 1 after joining the grand parade earlier in the day.
The visitors will also tour Tam-awan and the BenCab museum. Aside from that they will also hold on the spot painting where their works will be put on display at Porta Vaga.
A collaborative work on the Rev Baguio Bloom program of the DoT-Cordillera will be made also during the three day event backed by the Villa Cordillera and Boysen. PR / ABN
