CAMP O’DONNELL, CAPAS, TARLAC – The Philippine Army will play host to the 18th series of the Training Activity (TA) Land Malaysia-Philippines (MALPHI) from Oct. 15 to 28, 2017 here.
TA Land MALPHI is an annual bilateral training activity between the Philippine and Malaysian Armies who are alternately hosting the event.
A total of 142 soldiers from the Philippine Army, 27 from the Malaysia Army, and 12 from the local government units and non-government organization and associations will
Participate in the two-week event.
The participants will undertake exercises on Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) that aims to prepare both armies to respond to all types of disasters that may strike either inside or outside their respective territories.
During its first 15 years, TA Land MALPHI focuses its activities on exchange of conventional military doctrines.
Due to the effects of climate change, the training activity began focusing on how to enhance their respective HADR capabilities starting in 2015.
The TA Land MALPHI 18/2017 also contributes in maintaining and strengthening the long standing professional relationship and cooperation between the two armies.
The Philippine Army continues to participate in international engagements not only to enhance military relations with allied and other foreign armed forces, but also to sustain the momentum of its capability development as a world class Army that the nation will be proud of. PR / ABN
