Philippine public safety institution supports celebration of Eid Al-Fitr

BAGUIO CITY – Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC), the premier educational institution for the training, human resource development and continuing education of all personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), headed by PPSC-Cordillera Administrative Region Training Center (CARTC) regional training director Manolito Dicuaten Parazo supported and celebrated the Islam Eid Al-Fitr (Feast of Ramadan) and was joined by Muslim community leader Ustadz Samodin P. Monib, his son Ustadz Samen P. Monib, and his wife Sohra C. Monib on Wednesday, June 5 at Teachers Camp.
“Our government is really giving special day to our Muslim brothers to celebrate the very significant event Eid Al-Fitr and same with the PNP particularly our institution, CARTC is also giving importance to the activity by joining you – that is showing how we love, we care, and we respect you,” Parazo said.
Parazo also said that through the activity, the Muslim community will know they are valued, admired and not discriminated. He said his office is approachable and very supportive in any endeavor they will take.
“We are on their side and we are one, we are willing to extend help within our capability,” Parazo added. For his part, Police Executive Master Sergeant (PEMS) Bernard D. Briones said that whatever color, gender and race, we Filipinos are united and we support our Muslim brothers.
Meanwhile in his speech, young Monib said that the essence of the occasion is having understanding as a step for peace, and respect towards the belief of others is a key to true peace and success.
He added that the feast symbolizes unity among Muslims around the world having a single purpose which is to know and to give praise to our creator.
“Ang tunay na kahalagan, diwa at esensya ng pistang ito ay ang pagpapanatili at pagsasabuhay ng mga bagay na natutunan ng isang Muslim sa loob ng isang buwang pagaayuno,” Monib said.
On the other hand, Samsodin Monib appreciated the action coming from the government and was very thankful that they are loved. He added that he is requesting for the cooperation of the public safety officers, and he is also looking forward to the good relationship established from the PPSC CARTC and their continuing support.
Eid Al-Fitr is the celebration of the end of Ramadan (fasting month) by the Muslims. June 5 was declared a holiday by the President of the Philippines to give full opportunity for the entire Filipino nation to join Muslim brothers and sisters in peaceful and harmonious celebration.
