Phl Mayors, Cops Forge Tighter Watch VS Lawlessness, Terror, Rebellion, Corruption

BAGUIO CITY (June 13, 2021) – Town mayors around the country and the Philippine National Police have forged closer ties in the fight against crimes, terror, rebellion and corruption.
Narvacan, Ilocos Sur Mayor Luis “Chavit” Singson, president of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) and Philippine National Police (PNP) chief General Guillermo Eleazar met earlier this week vowing to strengthen the partnership between the country’s 220,000-strong police force and the municipal mayors in the country.
Singson discussed with the PNP chief how the LMP and the PNP can work together to push for Eleazar’s program to reform the police force and weed the bad eggs within its ranks.
While General Eleazar promised full cooperation and collaboration in the strong link between the PNP and municipal local government units in combatting lawlessness, while recognizing the help of the LMP in further improving the national police force’s service to the public.
