PNP’s clean rider campaign launched in Ifugao

CAMP JOAQUIN P. DUNUAN, LAGAWE, IFUGAO – Recent crimes perpetrated by motorcycle riding suspects (MRS) targeting high profile victims, prompted the Philippine National Police (PNP) to craft the “Campaign Plan: Clean Rider” for a more vigorous, focused, and effective campaign to totally eliminate crimes.
On October 1, 2018, the clean rider campaign was launched at the Ifugao Police Provincial Office.
The program begun with a prayer led by Pastor Alexander Paleyan.
Motor owners coming from different municipalities and members of the mountaineer motorcycle rider arrived and witnessed the ceremonial tagging and distribution of clean rider stickers.
Before the distribution of stickers, all riders joined the motorcade led by PNP uniformed personnel.
After the motorcade, acting provincial director PSSupt. David K. Peredo Jr. discussed how the program was conceptualized and its importance with regards to peace and order in the province.
He reminded the motor owners about the three important things to remember in driving a motorcycle: defensive driving, don’t drink and drive, and follow traffic rules and regulations.
He said this is for the safety and protection of the riders.
The launching ended peacefully. SPO2 Jordan Q. Ngatiyon, PNP Ifugao / ABN
