PRESIDENT PBBM SIGNS LAW ESTABLISHING SPECIALIZED SPORTS AND ARTS HIGH SCHOOL IN BAGUIO

BAGUIO CITY

Two groundbreaking laws were signed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., paving the way for the establishment of the Baguio City Sports High School (RA 12119) and Baguio City High School for the Arts (RA 12118), pieces of legislation principally authored and sponsored by Congressman Mark Go. These institutions are designed to provide specialized education for talented youth in Baguio and the Cordilleras. The Baguio City Sports High School will focus on nurturing young athletes, offering a secondary curriculum integrated with athletic training, in coordination with the Department of Education (DepEd), Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), and National Academy for Sports (NAS).

Meanwhile, the Baguio City High School for the Arts will hone the skills of students with exceptional aptitude in
culture and the arts, in partnership with the DepEd, National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), and Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), ensuring long-term sustainability for the creative sector. Cong. Mark hailed this development as a major milestone in empowering the youth of Baguio to excel in sports and the arts while
providing greater opportunities for them nationally and internationally.
