PRO-CAR COPS SEIZE OVER P1M WORTHY OF ILLEGAL DRUGS, ARREST DRUG PERSONALITIES BAGUIO AND BENGUET

In separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted by PRO CAR cops in Baguio City and Benguet, a total of Php1,040,800.00 worth of illegal drugs were seized, and three drug personalities were arrested on August 14, 2024.
In Baguio City, the joint operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) Police Station 3, Regional Intelligence Unit-14, and the PDEA-CAR conducted a buy-bust operation in Brgy South Drive that resulted in the arrest of two High Value Individuals, aged 45 and 56, and one Street Level Individual, aged 47, and the seizure of 14 sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing approximately 36 grams with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php244,800.00.

The arrested suspects and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the custody of the CDEU for
documentation and proper disposition. The suspects will be facing charges for violation of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Meanwhile, a marijuana eradication operation conducted in the province of Benguet by the operatives of Bakun MPS, Kibungan MPS, 1st Benguet PMFC, PDEU, Provincial
Intelligence Unit (PIU), RIU-14, and PDEA-CAR, led to the discovery of marijuana plantation sites in Brgy Kayapa, Bakun, and Brgy Tacadang, Kibungan planted with a total of 3,980 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with an SDP of Php796,000.00.

The discovered marijuana plants were uprooted and burned onsite, and enough samples were taken for submission to the Regional Forensic Unit-CAR. Further, the operating units are actively conducting follow-up investigations to identify other marijuana plantation sites and apprehend marijuana cultivators.
