PRO1 LAUNCHES FOR A SAFE NLE 2022

CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO – Police Regional Office 1 launched this morning (February 17) the National and Local Elections 2022 with the theme KASIMBAYANAN (Kapulungan ng inyong Pulis, ng inyong Sundalo, ng inyong Bantay Dagat, ng ating COMELEC at lahat ng Lingkod Bayan kasama ang Simbahan at Pamayanan), a multi-sectoral campaign supporting the government’s efforts for a Secure, Accurate, Free and Fair Elections 2022.
The PNP Director for Comptrollership, PMGEN RODOLFO S AZURIN JR, graced the said activity and stressed the role of KASIMBAYANAN in uniting the efforts of all government agencies, the religious sector, and the community in attaining peaceful and orderly election polls.
“The church’s role in helping the PNP to ensure the conduct of SAFE 2022 elections is to seek divine guidance and enlighten everyone to accomplish their mandates based on the precepts of honesty, justice, and respect to one’s belief or choice… All sectors of the government should be one in attaining a peaceful election. Because this will define kung ano po ang mangyayari sa ating bansa sa susunod na mga panahon” PMGEN RODOLFO S AZURIN, JR said.
The highlights of the activity were the ceremonial lighting of SAFE candles and pinning of SAFE 2022 pins by the officials of the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Commission on Elections, Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting, National Citizens’ Movement for Free Elections and religious and community leaders of Region 1.
Meanwhile, messages of solidarity were also given by Atty. Jubil S. Surmieda, Regional Election Director. COMELEC RO1; Fr. Albert C. Feliciano, TIGNAY-PPCRV Parish Coordinator; Julie J. Daquioag, CESO III, Regional Director, Department of Interior and Local Government, RO1; CG COMMO Inocencio C Rosario Jr, Commander, CGDNWLZN; BGEN Krishnamurti A Mortela, Brigade Commander, 702nd Infantry Brigade, Philippine Army.
The attendees have also signed a manifesto as a covenant of their commitment and support in the pursuit of clean, credible, and free elections.
The program culminated with the release of white doves that symbolize peace and hope as the country is about to face the verge of transformation with the forthcoming political exercise this May 9, 2022.
