Problem then Solution, La Trinidad in Benguet is in dilemma now that Environment Specialist I Arthur Pedro informed the Sangguniang Bayan last Tuesday (July 25, 2017) that Cell 3 of Barangay Alno as Municipal Engineered Sanitary Landfill will possibly be filled on December this year.

Councilor Riderick Awingan imply to the member of SB, MENRO and Office of the Mayor for a solution like the use of the supplemental budget as for going back to hauling for the mean time and fast track the construction on cell 4 at Alno before the year ends to be used next year.

Meanwhile, on solid waste management, Coun. Awingan, the author of “No Plastic Ordinance in the Municipality of La Trinidad”, is much happy that ever since the ordinance was passed last 2015 it is only now that the Municipal Market with each association had the initiative to finally launch the said ordinance on August 1.

However, Vice Mayor Joey Marrero said that “It will be good also if you disseminate the information and invite the big and small supermarkets and establishments that they may comply with the ordinance so that they don’t have any excuse and reasons why the municipality strictly implement such ordinance now.” The use of eco-bag, bayong and paper bag is the alternative things for market.

In this kind of problem that occurs in society, here comes the livelihood of every Barangay on creating something out of plastic. Upang tayo pa ay maging magandang ehemplo, solusyon na agad bago lumaki ang issue na magiging problema, dahil lahat naman ng tao ay nagkakamali pero dito tayo natuto. Magtulungan tayo dahil lagi naming ipapaalala “Ti pangtinnunos nga agtrabaho, mangiturong iti panagprogreso.”
