PSA-Benguet, Baguio enjoin support for 2019 Civil Registration Month

The Philippine Statistics Authority-Benguet Provincial Statistical Office in partnership with Baguio City and 13 Municipal Civil Registry Offices (C/MCROs) in the province will spearhead the 2019 Civil Registration Month (2019 CRM) this February 2019 with the theme, “Inclusive and Responsive CRVS: Working Smarter Through Innovation.”
The annual celebration is pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 682 s.1991 “Declaring the Month of February of Every Year as Civil Registration Month” which aimed to remind the Filipinos of their duty to register acts and events concerning status of persons, enhance nationwide awareness and appreciation of the legal, administrative and statistical values of civil registry documents.
To make the 2019 CRM Celebration meaningful and significant, a series of activities will be conducted like massive information and education drive in the city and the 13 municipalities of the province.
Public elementary and secondary schools, and in the barangays topped the areas for the information drive campaign.
Villafe Alibuyog, regional director of PSA-Cordillera and Imelda Buyuccan, Chief Statistician (PSA-Benguet), enjoined all government agencies, barangays and schools to actively support the civil registration campaign.
Alibuyog and Buyuccan led other PSA officials in the special edition of Kapihan marking Civil Registration Month held on Friday (February 1) at La Trinidad municipal gymnasium.
