PSA-BENGUET CELEBRATES 35TH CIVIL REGISTRATION MONTH WITH IEC ON BIRTH REGISTRATION ASSISTANCE PROJECT (BRAP)

BRAP Focal Person, Jovieline L. Ambojnon, leads an Information Education Campaign (IEC) on the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) during the commemoration of the 35th Civil Registration Month.

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) proudly marked the celebration of this year’s Civil Registration Month (CRM), in observance of Presidential Proclamation No. 682, signed by former President Corazon C. Aquino. This
proclamation declares February as Civil Registration Month every year, underscoring the importance of civil registration in the lives of Filipinos. In celebration of the 35th CRM, PSA-Benguet organized an Information and Education Campaign (IEC) at the Strawberry Valley Hotel and Restaurant in La Trinidad, Benguet.

The event served as an opportunity to promote awareness of vital civil registration services, particularly the Birth
Registration Assistance Project (BRAP), which aims to assist unregistered individuals, especially Indigenous peoples,
Muslim Filipinos, persons from marginalized communities, the poorest sectors of the country, and people currently living outside their place of birth, in securing their birth certificates. BRAP Focal Person, Jovieline L. Ambojnon, led the IEC session, providing key information about the project.

She emphasized the importance and benefits of birth registration, explaining the process, requirements, and target beneficiaries, with a particular focus on assisting unregistered individuals in the province. She also provided updates on the ongoing implementation of the project in Benguet, encouraging residents to take advantage of this service to ensure they can access essential government programs. PSA-Benguet remains committed to improving civil
registration services and ensuring that every Filipino, regardless of their background or location, has access to
essential government services. Through initiatives like BRAP, PSA continues to uphold its mission of promoting
inclusivity and equal access to vital statistics.
