PSA BENGUET UNDERTAKES THE QUARTERLY LABOR FORCE SURVEY

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Benguet will be undertaking the January 2025 Labor Force Survey (LFS) this month. The LFS is a monthly and quarterly survey of households that measure the current state of the Philippine labor market. It is used to calculate national and regional key employment indicators nationwide and the survey aims to gather data on the demographic and socio economic characteristics of the population.

Data from the survey provides information on major labor market trends such as labor force participation and unemployment rates, hours worked, past industries and occupations of the currently unemployed persons. The LFS enumeration period will be from 08 to 31 January 2024 with the Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) application as a method of data collection.

The third level training was conducted for four days which started on 03 January 2024 to equip them with the knowledge and skills and to learn the concepts, definitions and instructions to be used in the data collection. The success of the survey highly depends on the quality of the data that will be collected. Relative to this, PSA Benguet encourages the selected sample households in Benguet including Baguio City to please support and cooperate in the conduct of the said undertaking.

Under Section 26 of Republic Act 10625, the household supplied information will be held strictly confidential and the report cannot be used for purposes of taxation, investigation or enforcement procedure, nor will be published
except in the form of statistical summaries in which no reference to any individual person shall appear. The office would like to extend its utmost gratitude for the unending support of the public to all the different surveys and censuses undertaken by the office.
