“RAISING AWARENESS THROUGH ART: LA TRINIDAD’S POSTER MAKING CONTEST FOR DISASTER RISK REDUCTION”

The La Trinidad Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, in collaboration with the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), organized a Poster Making Contest for Grade 6 learners from both public and private elementary schools. The competition took place on December 9, 2024. Brian Kendrys W. Dalilis from Buyagan Elementary School represented our school in the event. The Poster Making Contest not only provided a creative outlet for students but also raised awareness about disaster risk reduction and management.

By participating, the learners gained valuable knowledge on how to prepare for and respond to disasters, fostering a sense of responsibility and community awareness. The competition also encouraged teamwork, critical thinking, and artistic expression, allowing students to showcase their creativity while reflecting on important social issues. Additionally, it offered an opportunity for students to connect with peers from different schools, promoting unity and collaboration across the community
