LUNGSOD NG SAN FERNANDO, LA UNION – Magsasagawa ang Regional Gender and Development Committee (RGADC) sa rehiyon sa pakikipagtulungan ng Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) ng kauna-unahang regional GAD budget forum sa Nobyembre 15 at 16 sa lungsod ng Vigan.
Mahigit 200 GAD focal persons at budget officers mula sa regional line agencies, state universities, at colleges at local government units sa Region 1 ang inaasahang dadalo sa nasabing forum.
“First day will be on November 15 which will be allotted for the line agencies and SUCs while the second day will be for those from the LGUs,” ani Atty. Harold Kub-aron, chair ng RGADC-1.
Ang mga kalahok ay bibigyan ng orientation sa paghahanda ng taunang plano at badyet ng GAD at magbabago ng mga alituntunin sa pag-audit ng mga pondo at gawain ng GAD.
“We also hope that any issues and concerns encountered in the preparation and implementation of these plans and budget will be raised and discussed in this event,” ani Kuba-aron, regional director din ng Commission on Human Rights-1.
Ayon naman kay PCW Executive Director Emmiline Verzosa, sa kanilang website, ito ay nakalinya sa kanilang pagsusumikap “to localize the Magna Carta of Women and the first time to conduct the event in partnership with the RGADCs”.
Ang parehong GAD budget forum ay gaganapin din sa Butuan City sa CARAGA at Legazpi City sa Bicol region ngayong taon.
Maliban sa Ilocos region, ang GAD budget fora sa CAR at Central Visayas ay nakatakda ngayong Nobyembre.
Noong Setyembre, sinanay ang mga miyembro ng RGADC-1 ng basic concepts tulad ng Gender Analysis Tools, Gender Mainstreaming at Gender Mainstreaming at Evaluation Framework (GMEF) at ang Harmonized GAD guidelines. J. DIAZ-SABADO, PIA-1 La Union / ABN
