The provincial government of Benguet conducted a relief operation to assist the victims of a fire incident that occurred in Mankayan, Benguet on Christmas Eve. The Mankayan Fire Station responded to a fire incident Tabbac, Bulalacao, Mankayan, Benguet on December 24, 2022. The incident burned three residential houses leaving the affected families homeless on Christmas Eve.

Benguet Governor Melchor Diclas immediately dispatched the PDRRMO and PSWDO personnel to conduct relief assistance and look into the situation and the possible assistance for the affected families. Gov. Diclas again reminded the public on the safety measures to prevent fire incidents especially during the Yuletide season particularly on the use of fireworks and firecrackers that could also cause fire incidents. He said that the BFP also has been conducting fire safety campaign and the Oplan Iwas Paputok to ensure a safe celebration of the New Year.
