Remains of couple buried in Benguet lanslide, found two days after

BAGUIO CITY (August 19, 2021)— After two days of mad search and rescue and operations,  responders found the body of the husband and a dismembered hand believed to be of his wife buried at a landslide at the Antamok River in barangay Loacan, Itogon, Benguet.
The body of Nestor Talangcag, 54, was found at 2:22 PM Thursday while a hand believed to be of his wife Maureen Talangcag, 57, hours later.
The husband and wife are small-scale miners from Beda, Loacan,Itogon,Benguet.
At 10:45 AM of August 17, 2021 along Antamok River, Barangay Loacan, the couple together with their children were gold panning at the river when the side of the mountain rushed down burrying them alive.   Their children managed to run flee to safety.
Policemen,  firemen, barangay officials and residents immediately launched a search and rescue operation and raced against time to save the couple.
