Right Hand Of Detained Big-time Drug Trader Shot In Baguio Sting Ops

BAGUIO CITY (August 27, 2020) – Alleged right hand man of detained half Somali-Ifugao drug trader Abdul Fabrigas Abdullah — Jeffrey Tolentino, 36, alias “Epoy” was wounded in a shootout with policemen during a sting operation Thursday morning along San Vicente barangay here.

Tolentino was shot on his legs after he fired at Baguio policemen arresting him at around 11:10AM Thursday after he sold a gram of shabu worth P3,500, said Baguio police director Col. Allen Rae Co.

Baguio City police Drug Enforcement Unit operatives led by Captain Julius Basinga said Tolentino tried to flee aboard his black Toyota Conquest pick up truck with plate number CAN 5369 by shooting at the policemen but was outwitted and was wounded on his legs.

Land Transportation Office-Cordillera regional director Francis Almora upon verification through the LTO’s vehicle registration system said, the black Toyota Conquest pick up truck used by Tolentino is registered under a certain Almar Sibul Unabia.

Tolentino’s boss—Abdullah, 28, — surrendered to the Baguio City police on June 28, three days after a massive manhunt was launched against him after a brief gun battle with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives along Upper Malvar st. here.

Abdullah, according to PDEA-Cordillera director Gil Castro, usually brings up 1 kilo of shabu to Baguio City from the lowlands.

PDEA-Cordillera operatives suspect, Tolentino was one of those inside a maroon Mitsubishi Montero SUV who fired at them after sensing the operatives.

The Mitsubishi Montero SUV, which was abandoned by Abdullah at a barangay here several hours after the late June shoot-out with PDEA agents, was also traced to a different person, neither Abdullah or Tolentino.
