The recently concluded Division Press Conference for Young Writers brought together the brightest student journalists from various schools, showcasing their talents and dedication to campus journalism. The event, held at Paoad Elementary School and Tublay Home of Industries in Acop Tublay on January 29 – 31, 2015, provided a platform for young writers to demonstrate their skills in various journalistic categories, from news writing to editorial cartooning.
One of the highlights of the conference was the announcement of the Best School Paper awards, where Balili Elementary School La Trinidad proudly secured 4th place. This recognition reflects the hard work and commitment of the school’s editorial team, who tirelessly worked to produce a publication that upholds journalistic excellence. The school’s paper was evaluated based on several criteria, including content quality, journalistic integrity, layout and design, and overall impact.
Competing against numerous schools, the Balili Bells stood out for its well-researched articles, compelling editorials, and engaging visual elements.The conference also featured workshops and competitions aimed at honing the writing and reporting skills of student journalists. Industry professionals and seasoned journalists were invited to share insights and expertise, providing valuable learning experiences for participants.
School officials and faculty members congratulated the editorial team on their success, emphasizing the importance of student journalism in fostering critical thinking and information literacy among young minds.
