Sen. Go gives protective gear to Cordillera hospitals

BAGUIO CITY – Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go has donated boxes of personal protective equipment (PPE) to the various hospitals in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) for the use of front-line health workers against the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
The donation composed of 750 pieces of protective suit; 5, 250 pieces of face mask; 1,600 pairs of gloves; and 200 pairs of shoe covers, were distributed on Tuesday to Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC), Pines City Doctor’s Hospital (PCDH), Notre Dame de Chartres Hospital, Saint Louis Hospital of the Sacred Heart, all located here.
Other recipients were Benguet General Hospital (BeGH) at the province’s capital town La Trinidad, Anastacia R. Sagel community hospital in Natonin, Mountain Province which would share the PPE to the adjacent town’s Paracelis District Hospital.
Government hospitals in the Mountain Province will also receive the donation. Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary Marie Rafael, who personally requested Go for the donations, said the money used to buy the items came from the legislator’s own pocket and from donations from his personal friends to augment the hospitals’ PPE supply.
Rafael told hospital officials that the items are only initial donation and there would be more in the coming days.“Magtext lang po kayo kung ano pa ang maitutulong, hindi na po kailangan ng official request, just get in touch. Ito po ay pantawid lamang (Just text me what else is needed. You don’t need to send official requests, just get in touch. This is just an augmentation supply),” she said.
Rafael also thanked the Office of Civil Defense-CAR personnel for helping bring the donation to Baguio. (PNA)
