Six Cannabis Plantations Seized In Kalinga Village; “27 MJ Bricks Found Abandoned In Mt. Province Capital”

BAGUIO CITY (September 20, 2020) —  Kalinga policemen and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents overran six marijuana plantations valued at P13.96 million in barangay Bugnay, Tinglayan town in Kalinga Saturday morning.

The illicit plantations on mountain slopes, though far from the village, totalled  4,000 square meters planted with at least 68,000 fully grown marijuana.

Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. RWin Pagkalinawan said all the marijuana plants were uprooted and put ablaze after official documentation on the haul.

As government agents also hauled at least 17 dried marijuana leaves already in brick form placed inside a paper box reportedly abandoned in sitio Samoki, Bontoc, Mt. Province capital town on Sunday afternoon.

PDEA-Mt. Province valued the MJ bricks to reach P2,040,000.00.

Though again, no one was cornered by authorities as cultivator in the 6 marijuana plantations discovered in Tinglayan, Kaling on Saturday and likewise the owner of the MJ bricks believed to be transported to a lowland market.
