SLU AMONG 800 BEST ASIAN HEIs, AMONG PH’S TOP 13

While the University of the Philippines remains the best institution of higher education (HEI) in the country and the three of the “Big Four” maintain their respective positions, the Saint Louis University is one of the 21 other learning institutions included in the list of top performing schools in Asia. The oldest and biggest Baguio university was in the
751-800 bracket in the latest Asian ranking and is better ranked than some of the top Manila and Cebu schools.

It is also one of the best 13 schools in the country in tie with three other HEIs according to the latest ranking. UP was ranked 86th among the 984 Asian HEIs in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asia University Rankings 2025. UP received a 60.6 out of 100 rating in the latest ranking, while registering a best 94.4 rating points in Employer
Reputation (94.4), which comprises 10% of the overall rating.

The state university also received high ratings in the other criteria, International Research Networ, Academic
Reputation and Faculty Student Ratio of 87.1, 83 and 47.9, in that order. UP’s new placement, however, is nine rungs lower than the 78th out of 855 universities in Asia last year. The other “Big Four”, moreover, have lower rankings
also this year with Ateneo de Manila University falling to 142nd from137th, De La Salle University from 154th to 163rd, and the University of Santo Tomas from 179th to 181st.

Adamson University is the fifth best HEI after it was clustered in the 411-420 bracket, followed by the University of San Carlos (481-490), the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (541-560), the Mapua University (561-580), Silliman University (601-620) and the Far Eastern University (681- 700). Ateneo de Davao University comes next after being clustered in the 701-750 along with the Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (701-750). Joining SLU in the 751-800 bracket are Lyceum of the Philippines University, the Mindanao State University and Xavier University.

Cebu Technological University, Central Luzon State University, Central Mindanao University and the Central Philippine University are in the 851-900 bracket. Four Philippine HEIs are in the 900+ bracket, these are the Angeles University Foundation, University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines, University of Southeastern Philippines, University of Southern Mindanao and the West Visayas State University.

The Peking University from China retained its top spot from last year after s coring a perfect 100, followed by the University of Hong Kong, the National University of Singapore, and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in the second to fourth places, in that order. Founded in 1911 as a single room school at Campo Filipino, SLU is one of the biggest HEIS north of Manila with more than 30,000 enrollees.
