Spring Festival (Candy Fest) parade handa na sa Pebrero 17

LUNGSOD NG BAGUIO – Nakalatag na ang mga aktibidad ng Baguio Filipino-Chinese Community para sa pagdiriwang ng ika-20 taong pagkakatatag ng Spring Festival sa Baguio.

Ang Chinese Lunar New Year na kalimitang idinaraos tuwing February 16 na sinimulan sa lungsod noong taong 1998 ay naging maayos at matagumpay ang pamamalakad sa pamamagitan ng pagkakaisa at pagtutulungan mula sa komite na binubuo ng Spring Festival 2018 Executive Committee na pinamunuan ni mayor Mauricio G. Domogan at ang Baguio Filipino-Chinese Community Organization.

Binubuo ng mga asosasyon na nagkaisa para sa selebrasyon sa taong ito, nauna rito ang Philippine-China Understanding-Baguio City Chapter sa pamumuno ni Jolly Rillera; Baguio Filipino-Cantonese Association-CAR at Baguio Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce sa pangunguna ni Peter L. Ng, president; Baguio Patriotic High School ni President Kane Chanbonpin; Filipino-Chinese Amity Club-Baguio City Chapter ni President Thomas Kho; Filipino-Chinese Shin LIan Association-Baguio City Branch ni President William Tiu; Tiok Lim Grand Mason-Baguio City Chapter ni President Allan Lim; Bell Church-Baguio City ni Spiritual Leader Reverend Elias Ng; SM City of Baguio ni AVP for Northern 1 Operations, Marc Jansen Pe at Megapines Realty & Development ni President Fernando Tiong.

Ang barangay gift-sharing ay gaganapin sa covered court ng Gibraltar Barangay sa February 13 (Tuesday) ng 2:30pm, New Year celebration sa Bell Church with gift-giving program sa February 16, (Friday) ng 2pm at ang pinaka-highlight na selebrasyon ay ang Grand Colorful parade sa February 17, (Saturday) assembly ng 1pm, magsisimula ang parada ng 2:30pm na magsisimula sa Upper Session Road.

Mahigpit na pinaaalahanan ang mga participant sa parada na iwasang maghagis ng candies sa gitna ng kalsada o kaya hangga’t maaari ay kusang iabot na lang kung may pagkakataon upang maiwasan ang disgrasya.

Handa na rin ang kapulisan sa pamumuno ni BCPO City Director PCSupt. Ramil Saculles para sa pagmintina ng traffic operations.

Sinabi ni Ng, “This year February 16 marks the beginning of the Year of the Dog, people with the Dog zodiac sign were born on the following years; 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006 and 2018, ranking as the eleventh animal in Chinese Zodiac, Dog is the symbol of loyalty, friendly, faithful, smart, straightforward, venerable, honest and have a strong sense of responsibility they possess the best traits of human nature”.

“On the negative side, they are likely to be self-righteous, cold, terribly stubborn, slippery, critical of others and not good at social activities.”

“They know how to keep secrets and inspire other people’s confidence, those people make good leaders, most women under this sign are appealing but lack stability, they can be cold emotionally and sometimes distant at parties, they can find fault with many things and are noted for their sharp tongues.”

“Ang Spring festival ay naging bahagi na rin ang pamimigay ng candy na sumisimbolo ng tamis na lakip nito ay swerte o matamis na pakikipag kaibigan mula sa nagbigay kung kaya isinama na rin ito sa tuwing idinaraos ang Spring festival (Candy Festival),” pagtatapos ni Ng. ABN
