Tabuk City COVID19 Cases Surge

BAGUIO CITY(August 28, 2020) –  Tabuk City,  Kalinga province’s capital, has logged a surge of COVID19 cases Friday with 15 new patients.

Three  of whom are cadets of the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA) who arrived in Tabuk City on August 8, 2020 and reported back to PMMA in San Narciso, Zambales on August 21, 2020 where they were swabbed.

The City Health Office (CHO) is now conducting contact tracing for all direct contacts of these students in Tabuk City. Their ages, gender, and residences in Tabuk are as follows: 18 year-old male from Barangay Lacnog; 19 year-old male from Purok 3, Barangay Bulanao Norte; and a 21 year-old male from Barangay Ipil.  Eleven are their direct contacts.

The fourth patient is a 12 year-old male from Purok 5, Bulanao, who was swabbed on August 26 and who has a mild infection with symptoms of cough, colds and sore throat, while the fifth patient is

an 82 year-old male from P5, Bulanao, swabbed on August 26 and who has a mild infection with symptoms of cough and colds. He was also a direct contact of a positive case.

The sixth is a 21 year-old female teacher from Damsite, Bado Dangwa who was swabbed on August 26 and has a mild infection with symptom of colds, while the seventh is a 22 year-old female bartender from Damsite, Bado Dangwa who was swabbed on August 26 and who has a mild infection with symptom of colds.

The eighth is a 25 year-old male farmer also from Damsite, Bado Dangwa who was swabbed on August 26 and has a mild infection with symptoms of colds and cough, while the ninth is a 1 year-old boy also from Damsite, Bado Dangwa who was swabbed on August 26 and has mild infection with symptom of colds.

The tenth is a 10 year-old male from Purok 1, Bulanao Centro who was swabbed on August 26 and also has a mild infection with symptom of sore throat, while the 11th is a 7 year-old male from Purok 1, Bulanao Centro who was swabbed on August 26 and also has  a mild infection with symptom of cough.

The 12th is a 13 year-old female from P1, Bulanao Centro who was swabbed on August 26 and also a mild infection with symptom of cough, while the 13th is a 27 year-old watchman from Babbanoy, Tanudan who was swabbed on August 26 in Tabuk City as direct contact of a positive case there.  He has symptom of colds.

The 14th is a 37 year-old watchman from Lower Lubo, Tanudan who was swabbed on August 26 in Tabuk as direct contact of a positive case and has symptoms of colds.

The 15th is a 27 year-old female from Barangay Ipil who was swabbed on August 26 and also has symptoms of colds.   She is currently in isolation at the quarantine facility of the Kalinga Provincial Police Office (KPPO).

Public health officials said all positive cases will be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility-City Isolation Unit (TTMF-CIU) in Agbannawag but those with symptoms will be assessed and referred to the Kalinga Provincial Hospital (KPH).
