A good quality education receives by children and youngcc people are more likely to be healthy, and likewise those who are healthy are better able to learn. They are holding the key to create a better future. Learners face a range of challenges that stand in the way of their education, their schooling and their futures. A few of these are related to their health and well-being according to UNESCO. Education develops the skills, values and attitudes that enable learners to lead healthy and fulfilled lives, make informed decisions, and engage in positive relationships with everyone around them. Poor health can have a detrimental effect on school attendance and academic performance.

Schools who promotes health that are safe and inclusive for all children and young people are essential for learning. It is an initiative aiming to improve the health and well-being of young people despite broad agreement that well- being should be conceptualized as a multidimensional construct. Narrowly defining well-being as the absence of stress or the presence of a positive mood leads to equally narrow and short-sighted approaches to supporting well-being. A well-being with the following dimensions: affective well-being, aspiration, autonomy, competence, and integrated functioning. Thus, to promote success in schools, focus on teacher well-being first.
