The need of attending PTA meetings

Some say that the best way to show our love to others is spending our time with them. This is a fact during Parents and Teachers’ Association meetings. Parents and teachers go hand in hand in ensuring the academic success of every child or pupil. If one neglects his or her responsibility, then the goal of academic growth in the part of learners crumbles. Each time the school administration calls for a meeting, parents should sacrifice their time to attend no matter how busy they are. This is one of parents’ expressions of how they love and support their child in their academic journey.
During PTA meetings, parents will have time to know the adviser and subject teachers of his or her child. It is also a moment that everyone is reminded of the requirements and updates related to the Department of Education. School and classroom rules are also enumerated and explained. And the most import thing is the financial report being discussed by PTA officers. It is also has a bonus because it will be a perfect moment of starting friendship with other teachers and parents. Through this, exchange of skills happens since we all have different abilities and talents.
There may be countless reasons why a parent should not attend PTA meetings and I guess the most famous one is that, according to some, PTA meetings is an avenue to collect funds and finance projects. That is why our presence as parents and guardians are encouraged for us to react and suggest wonderful ideas during the said gatherings.
Building a good relationship between teachers (the whole school community) and parents requires time, effort, and money in both parties but it is an investment that can have lasting and great effects in the service of learners. ANDRE PAOLO C. GALONG, Pines City National High School
