The much-anticipated SDO Benguet Division Science and Mathematics Festival is set to take place on October 24-25, 2024, at Tublay School of Home Industries (TSHI) Acop, Tublay, Benguet. This initiative aims to enhance the educational experiences of learners in Benguet through the participation of the Division of Benguet Association of Science Teachers and district coordinators.
A dedicated Technical Working Group (TWG) has been tasked with planning and executing the event, which was recently discussed at Buyagan Elementary School. The planning was spearheaded by Supervisor Jardson Onio and Merlyn Conchita De Guzman. The Technical working group (TWG) has been actively engaged in detailed preparations and emphasizes the importance of research, as well as the inclusion of board games such as Sci-Dama and DamaTH. The latter has two variations: Power Patrol for Grades 5 and 6 learners, while Patrol Water is designed for Grades 3 and 4 learners. This year’s event will include these activities.
Additionally, Project RISE under the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) focuses on promoting research and innovation to drive regional development. This initiative aims to enhance the country’s research capabilities and encourage collaboration between academic institutions, industry, and local communities. Furthermore, STEMazing seeks to inspire and engage young people by showcasing role models and providing hands-on experiences.
