Three die, three hurt as van plunges into 100-meter Benguet ravine

BAGUIO CITY (September 27, 2021)— Three died and three were hurt after the Mitsubishi Delica minivan they were on board plunged into a 100-meter ravine at Sitio Timbac, Barangay Pacso, Kabayan, Benguet on Seprember 26, 2021.

Declared dead on arrival at the Atok District Hospital were Andrew Tambuling Dulagan and Charlie Bagsawan Dulagan.  Jerald Dulagan expired while being treated at the said hospital.

Jerry Tauli Dulagan, Honor Tauli Dulagan and Amos Bagsawan Dulagan were hurt, while seventh passenger — Jeffrey Bagsawan Dulagan miraculously was unscathed.

All of them are residents of Cadatngan, Cattubo, Atok, Benguet.

Police said the vehicle’s brakes malfunctioned prompting the driver to lose control and dived into the ravine.

The personnel of the Kabayan Fire Station, Atok Fire Station, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) Atok, Police of Atok and Kabayan and residents nearby helped each other to rescue and retrieve the victims.
