TUBA OFFICIALS VOW ITS OWN WATER SYSTEM TO BE PILOTED EARLY 2023

Mayor Sal-ongan reported on Wednesday (Sept 26) during a press forum million was allocated to the
waterworks project, sourced form local as well as national funds. Engineer Jackson Pasamic, chief of the municipal engineering office and acting municipal administrator, said “full engineering works” of the
project is being undertaken to meet its target pilot date. Pasamic strongly adhere the clamor of the local
community especially residents of Poblacion, local officials including its legislative body, headed by Vice Mayor Maria Carantes for the the establishment of water system for their own locality and its proper utilization.

Some 7,000 residents especially in Barangay Poblacion and other adjoining barangays will benefit once the project will be “fully operational.” For the record, it was Ignacio Rivera, the former mayor of this town who initiated the “bidding” and initial phase of the waterworks system project – to provide residents and businesses with sufficient and sustainable water supply. The main source of water is a spring located in Badioan in (Marcos Highway), which recently been took over by Tuba from Baguio Water District.

The project will not only address food security but also water security that will enhanced further the town’s
economic growth and development in this so-called “new normal.”
