URBAN AQUAPONICS TURNOVER

The Department of Agriculture thru the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources – Cordillera turned over 20 units of solar-powered urban aquaponics system to identified fisherfolks and associations in the city of Baguio in a simple ceremony at the BFAR-CAR Regional Office on Thursday, October 28, 2021.
The turn over ceremony was led by Agriculture Secretary William Dar with Asec. Noel Reyes, DA-CAR Regional Executive Director Cameron Odsey, BFAR-CAR Regional Director Lilibeth Signey, and Baguio City Veterinary and Agriculture Office Head Dr. Brigit Piok.
The project is one of the commitments of Secretary Dar to the city of Baguio which is also in support of the “Ahon Lahat, Pagkaing Sapat (ALPAS) Kontra COVID-19 or the Plant Plant Plant Program to enhance food security concerns amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
