Vegetable Truck Driver Turns Out Positive Hiking Benguet COVID19 Cases To 4

Tuba, Benguet (June 9, 2020) –  A 44-year old vegetable truck driver turned out positive of COVID19 late Monday afternoon, further hiking Benguet’s active cases to 4.
Tuba Mayor Clarita P. Sal-ongan received a report from the town’s health officer Dr. Lorigrace Austria that the patient, from sitio Bangcua, barangay Poblacion, was found to positive after the result from his swab test result from the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center came in 6PM Monday.
Thetruck driver reportedly went from Cubao, Quezon City to Plaridel, Bulacan on May 31, then Baguio City to Puguis, La Trinidad, Benguet on June 1.  He also headed to Shilan, La Trinidad on June 2 then again to Manila and Plaridel, Bulacan on June 3.
The patient again headed to Puguis, La Trinidad on June 4, 2020, then stayed at
his home village in sitio Bangcua, Poblacion, Tuba from June 5-7.
Sal-ongan said upon swab test confirmation,  they immediately launched contact tracing and placed sitio Bangcua on total lockdown.
She appealed to her townmates for cooperation and inform their barangay officials of their contact history with the patient, if any, from June 4 to June 8, 2020.
Only on Sunday,  Benguet recorded its third Covid19 confirmed case,  a 22-year-old male from Botiwtiw, barangay Balili, La Trinidad, who has a travel history in Quezon City.
On June 1, Benguet recorded its second COVID19 patient just as the lockdown in barangay Ucab, the village of National Bilibid Prisons (NBP) jail officer Clifton Bacayan, 40, whose swab test turned positive on May 29, was lifted.
An individual from Labilab, barangay Loacan, Itogon town, tested positive prompting Itogon Mayor Victorio Palangdan to order a lockdown on sitios Sabkil, Tocmo, Labilab and Bakong, all in barangay Loacan. 
Benguet province’s “COVID19-free status” became short-lived with the positive result on jail officer Bacayan who like the second and third patients are confined at the Benguet General Hospital (BeGH).
A father and his son–  who were admitted in April were discharged from the hospital on May 26, that rendered Benguet province COVID19-free for two days until May 29 sad news.
