Vote for a safer Philippines

On May 9, every Filipino voter will make an important decision that will help shape the future of the country. That is, choosing a leader who will set the course of action in the years to come.
Unlike elections in the past, the 2022 National and Local Elections will push through during the onset of a global pandemic.
The democratic exercise of voting must be done with extra caution to ensure that the voters observe the necessary health precautions to avoid the sudden surge of COVID-19 cases after the elections.
Moreover, the pandemic has highlighted even more the power of Filipino resiliency in 56M unang sa pahina 9 Tam, Calica on page 9 times of crisis and the responsiveness of various local government units and agencies to extend their assistance.
Thus, future leaders are expected to share the same level of responsiveness in any kind of crisis, including threats to national security.
While we prepare for this momentous event, the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front is also exhausting all means to win votes for its party lists groups under the Makabayan Bloc and its fielded or supported candidates from senators down to the municipal and city councilors.
No less than former cadres of the CPP have attested to this deceptive scheme of the CPP to infiltrate the government using these party lists and their supported candidates for purposes of gaining access to government resources and meddle with legislation and implementation of programs, which they eventually use to brag before the people and portray their party lists as champions of people’s welfare and interests.
Meanwhile, the resources they can raise after having entered the halls of Congress are diverted for purposes of financing the terror activities of the NPAs.
This means that a vote for these CPP-backed party lists and candidates will contribute to them continuing to use the government against it and worse, at the expense of the people whom these party-list groups claim to serve but are misrepresenting and misusing all in the name of the CPP’s ill objective to cause chaos and overthrow the government.
For this upcoming election, voters must choose wisely in electing strong-willed leaders and party lists that genuinely fight for the interests, welfare, and security of the Filipino people. Vote for the safety of our children! Vote for a safer Philippines!
