Ubod Barrio School invites parents, guardians, and community elders to advise Ubod Barrio School learners monthly for the school year 2023-2024. This school program encourages the community to help the school mold learners’ character. This is a remarkable initiative that is taking place that bridges the generational gap and fosters a sense of community: elders from the neighborhoods are sharing their wisdom and advice with young learners. This exchange is not only enriching for the students but also deeply fulfilling for the elders.

The initiative of elders advising learners at Ubod Barrio School is a beautiful example of how intergenerational interactions can enrich lives and strengthen communities. The wisdom and experiences shared by the parents, guardians, and elders provide Ubod Barrio School learners with invaluable lessons that textbooks cannot offer. This exchange fosters mutual respect, enhances communication skills, and instills essential values and life skills in the learners. As we continue to nurture this bond between the old and the young, we pave the way for a more compassionate, resilient, and well-rounded generation. Indeed, “It takes a village to raise a child.”
