Wonderful, unforgettable Ilocos Norte

So many places to go, so limited time you have. A travel to Ilocos Norte is such a wonderful and unforgettable place to go whatever time of the year.

Well just like Sagada in Mt. Province that wherever your eyes reach it’s all magical, in Ilocos you have to travel to reach their tourist destination first before you can say the word “I Love Ilocos, Wow Philippines!” These are the only two places I have loved to come back to whenever chances permit me. But of course I cannot set aside the blood of my ancestors; Barlig, Mt. Provinces arising from its beauty discovered as a late bloomer. Anyway, let’s go back to Ilocos Norte a place from yesterday.

Let’s talk about the modern place to go to before the antique now. As a traveller, I will never forget the joy I have in experiencing the Sand Dunes where you will have merry go round in the sand while the beach is upon your reach and shouting all your dreams to come true. Number two millennial place to go to is the Fort Ilocandia where souvenirs and gift shops can be found as a remembrance of visiting Ilocos. Once you enter this place it feels like you are on another country but actually you are only in the Philippines. Another place to go to is the Kapurpurawan and Pagudpud Beach where you get to see the White Rock Formation, Windmill (the proposed free source of electricity in the Philippines), and the amazing white sand beach of Pagudpud. A farm at Burgos, Ilocos Norte that showcases different kind of products made of dragon fruit.

Now let’s go to the unforgettable old era in Ilocos, the San Agustin Church in Paoay, Ilocos Norte is so majestic where people get married every now and then. Now let’s move forward to Sarrat, Sta. Monica Parish Church and Sarrat, Ilocos Norte where you can find former Marcos home and birthplace. Meanwhile, let us not forget the place where the former president’s home is in Ilocos Norte which is Batac where you can taste their different delicacies; they are well known for the empanada, chicacorn, and longganisa.

I may not have been to some tourist destinations yet in Ilocos Norte but surely I will go back there. Go and it will feel special because you go with someone you loved to be with to be more enjoyable. This iKit ng Bayan always reminding you that “Pinagkaykaysa, mangiwanwan iti naranyag nga pagsayaatan.”
