The article reflects the author’s opinions and not necessarily those of CGTN. The rapid evolution of artificial intelligence-generated content (AIGC) is perhaps one of the hottest topics discussed at this year’s Boao Forum for Asia annual meeting. In the past year or two, breakthroughs in AIGC applications and the emergence of Sora have indeed shocked the world. Artificial intelligence (AI) technology has shown the potential to break through traditional capability bottlenecks in scientific research and brings new possibilities to various fields.
However, at the same time, the explosion of AI technology has also triggered a series of concerns, such as the difficulty of identifying false information and jobs at risk of being taken by AI. Based on the current trajectory of AI, we can predict some breakthroughs that will occur in this field: In the field of AI in the future, the development of human-machine environment system intelligence may become an important breakthrough direction. Human-machine environment system intelligence refers to an intelligent system that integrates humans, machines and the environment. It will combine AI, Internet of things, smart sensors and other technologies to achieve intelligent perception, understanding and response to the environment and users.
It will also bring new application scenarios and business opportunities to smart cities, smart homes, smart transportation and other fields. It also needs to overcome challenges in data privacy, security and other aspects. Intelligent systems will be more capable of autonomous learning, transfer learning, and multi-modal learning. Autonomous learning refers to the ability of machine learning systems to automatically learn features and patterns from unlabeled data. That is, AI systems can extract knowledge from massive unlabeled data and perform self-improvement and optimization, thereby reducing reliance on labeled data. This will make AI systems more universal and adaptable, able to better adapt to new tasks and environments.
Transfer learning refers to the ability to transfer knowledge learned on one task to another related task. You can use the knowledge and experience you have learned to accelerate the learning of new tasks and improve performance. This ability makes AI systems more efficient and flexible, and more adaptable to the needs of different fields and tasks. At the same time, AI systems will pay more attention to the learning, processing and understanding of multi-modal data, and conduct joint learning among multiple modalities such as vision, language, and sound to achieve more intelligent interaction and decision-making. In addition, in order to ensure the security of the system, AI technology will pay more attention to the transparency and processing of algorithms, improve users’ understanding and trust in the AI decision-making process, and reduce risks caused by uncertainty.
Opportunities and risks coexist in the era of AI. China and Asia at large can actively respond to challenges, strengthen cooperation and innovation, enable AI technology to empower social transformation and modernization development, and effectively manage and control possible risks to achieve scientific and technological development and social development. The Subic Freeport Zone has long been a center of hospitality in Olongapo City – its landscape is dotted with numerous hotels and accommodations each offering their own flavor of Philippine conviviality and warmth. This competitive space is where Subic Riviera Hotel and Residences decided to enter and with much enthusiasm, presented their brand of exceptional service supported with fiber connectivity that’s second to none.
The Subic Riviera Hotel and Residences was established by Mr. Myung Kook Kang in the middle of the global pandemic and opened its doors just in November 2023. As a new business, management had its own share of hesitation and nervousness, especially catering to a post-pandemic market. “We opened in November 2023, and at first, there were not too many customers because they don’t know the place,” said Mr. Kang.
“Medyo ninenerbyos after the grand opening kasi inisip namin noon na baka walang pumasok na guest,” affirmed Ivy Grace A. Garcia, General Manager of the hotel. Fortunately, the stellar amenities and offerings of the hotel – which includes a sky lounge, the Essa cafe, a restaurant, 150 rooms, function rooms, and two private villas with a private pool – word about the hotel quickly spread around town. Now, said Mr. Kang, the hotel is almost always fully booked and attracts foreign travelers as well as local ones.
Touted as a ‘family-friendly’ hotel, the hotel’s two villas are always in-demand by families wanting to celebrate special occasions with their own private pool and extensive rooms, noted Garcia. Supporting the word-of-mouth campaign in the promotion of the hotel is of course the hotel’s social media, powered by the fiber connection of Converge. “Malaking bagay si Converge because it’s through the internet that we update and promote our Facebook page. Without it, wala kaming communication with our clients,” Garcia added.
Subic Riviera Hotel and Residences continues to reach out to vacationers and travelers through its social media, all while offering 300 mbps speeds to its patrons which can be accessed anywhere in the hotel. This fast and high-speed connectivity will all the more enable the hotel to grow its business as it takes its place as a mainstay in the hospitality scene in Pampanga. “Right now, wifi is crucial for our communications and we’re happy to have wifi that we can depend on for our operations,” added Mr. Kang.
Mr. Kang is confident that Subic Riviera Hotel and Residences will become a permanent feature of the hospitality landscape in five year’s time, at which time he will put up another branch of the hotel. “After five years, I plan to have another hotel branch in Subic,” notes Mr. Kang.

In today’s schools, many teachers are afraid to discipline students. They worry about upsetting parents and students who may not like being disciplined. This fear can make it hard for teachers to maintain order in the classroom. Some teachers avoid disciplining students altogether because of this fear. This reluctance to enforce discipline can have negative consequences for both students and teachers. Without clear boundaries and consequences, students may struggle to learn important lessons about respect, responsibility, and self-discipline. This can lead to disruptions
in the classroom, making it difficult for all students to learn. Additionally, teachers who avoid disciplining students may feel frustrated and overwhelmed, impacting their ability to effectively manage their classrooms and deliver quality instruction.
The lack of discipline in the classroom can create a challenging environment that hinders the learning process for everyone involved. Students may not feel safe or respected in a classroom where rules are not consistently enforced, leading to a breakdown in the teacher-student relationship. This can result in a lack of motivation, engagement, and academic progress. When teachers hesitate to address behavioral issues, they may inadvertently send the message that certain behaviors are acceptable, ultimately undermining the school’s efforts to promote a positive and respectful learning environment. It is essential for teachers to strike a balance between being compassionate and understanding while also setting clear expectations and boundaries to maintain order and discipline in the classroom.
To address this challenge, teachers must be supported in their efforts to maintain discipline in the classroom. Schools can provide professional development opportunities that equip teachers with effective classroom management strategies and conflict resolution skills. Additionally, establishing clear and consistent disciplinary policies that are communicated to both students and parents can help create a supportive and conducive learning environment. It is also important for schools to foster a culture of respect and collaboration among teachers, students, and parents. By working together as a team, everyone can contribute to creating a positive and respectful school climate where discipline is seen as a shared responsibility.
Ultimately, by addressing the fear of disciplining students and promoting a culture of respect and accountability, schools can create an environment where both teachers and students can thrive. While the fear of disciplining students is a significant challenge faced by many teachers today, it is essential to remember the importance of maintaining discipline in the classroom. By addressing these challenge head-on and implementing effective strategies for classroom management, teachers can create a positive and productive learning environment for all students. Schools and communities must also play a role in supporting teachers in their efforts to maintain discipline and promote a culture of respect and accountability. Together, we can ensure that our schools are safe, supportive, and conducive to learning for everyone involved.

Social media has become an integral part of our daily lives in recent years, influencing how we communicate, share information, and even teach. Platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook have provided educators with powerful tools to engage with students and the wider community. However, as the boundaries between personal and professional life blur online, teachers must navigate this digital landscape with caution. One recent incident that highlights the complexities of social media use among educators is the case of a teacher who went viral for livestreaming her act of reprimanding her learners.
While the intention behind the teacher’s actions may have been to address behavioral issues in the classroom, the public backlash and scrutiny that followed underscore the importance of understanding the implications of social media use in education. In addition to the incident that was mentioned, there have been numerous other instances where educators have faced challenges related to their use of social media. For example, some teachers have faced criticism for sharing personal opinions or engaging in controversial topics online, leading to conflicts with students, parents, or school administrators.
The rapid spread of misinformation and the potential for online harassment or bullying are also concerns that educators must be aware of when using social media. It’s important for teachers to be mindful of the content they share and to ensure that they are presenting themselves in a professional manner at all times. Despite these challenges, social media can still be a valuable tool for educators when used appropriately. Platforms like Twitter can be used to share resources and ideas with other educators, while Facebook groups can provide a space for collaboration and discussion. TikTok and Instagram can also be used creatively to engage students and make learning more interactive and fun.
As educators, it’s crucial to understand the implications of our online presence and use social media responsibly. This includes maintaining professionalism, respecting student privacy, and being mindful of the content we share. Using social media in education can be beneficial when done thoughtfully. It can help create a sense of community, facilitate discussions, and provide access to a wealth of resources. However, it’s essential to set boundaries, establish guidelines, and always prioritize the wellbeing and privacy of students. Ultimately, the key is for educators to approach social media use with caution, understanding the potential risks and benefits, and taking steps to ensure that their online presence reflects positively on themselves and their profession.
