Amidst these unprecedented times, the Legislative Caretaker of the Lone District of Benguet, Congressman Eric Yap continues to serve those deeply affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers or TUPAD is a financial assistance given to those economically distressed due to the subsequent quarantine measures in our country.

The vast effects of the Coronavirus to the economy and to society are yet to be realized in full as it seems to be a ceaseless crisis as of the moment. Yap, however, ensures that as Legislative Caretaker, he will be there to help the people of Benguet, especially those who are struggling the most.
“Among the TUPAD beneficiaries are the disadvantaged farmers, cut-flowers, PWDs, musicians, informal workers, and the like. We will ceaselessly reach out, especially to those most affected by the pandemic who were not included in the SAP distribution,” Yap said.
TUPAD is one of the many streams of help utilized by Yap. Since the implementation of strict quarantine measures in the region in March, Yap has intervened through establishing other projects like his Mobile Tulong Program. A total of 6,246 families benefited from Yap’s TUPAD allocation and a total of PhP 21,192,000.00 was already distributed. In some municipalities, Yap himself spearheaded the distribution of the TUPAD and visited the communities in the area.
“We will make sure that even those who are in the far-flung areas will receive aid. For those who have not received SAP or TUPAD or any kind of financial assistance yet, we will prioritize them through another program in the next few weeks,” the caretaker noted.
“More projects are to come for the people of Benguet. This is just the beginning. We will not stop until we address all the needs and concerns of our kababayans. We shall go beyond, in all ways,” Yap added.
