1098 individual warned for Anti- Distracted Walking Ordinance

Baguio City – Baguio City Police Office personnel under the supervision of the City Director, PCOL ALLEN RAE F CO apprehended 1,098 individual for violating the Anti-Distracted Walking ordinance of Baguio in the span of 10 days.
The Anti-Distracted Walking ordinance of the City of Baguio is being implemented by the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), Public Order and Safety Division (POSD), Barangay Tanods and other Law Enforcement Agencies last November 15, 2019.
All violators were released after given stern warning; however, their personal circumstances were recorded for future reference. Likewise, the offenders were informed on the provisions of said ordinance as follows: Violators will not be penalized for the first offense, a penalty of P1, 000 for the second offense, P2, 000 for the third offense, and P2, 500 with community service or imprisonment of 11-30 days for the fourth and succeeding offenses.
The BCPO is again appealing to the public to cooperate and comply with all existing ordinances at all times.
