2 drug personalities, arrested for shabu and grenade

CAMP DIEGO SILANG, La Union – La Union police arrested two drug personalities in separate dragnet operations in Bangar and San Juan towns and they are set to file a multi-case charges into illegal drugs and illegal possession of explosive Monday (Jan. 25, 2021).

According to a police report, a suspect identified as Mark Anthony Madrid, 41, welder and a resident of Barangay Lingsat, San Fernando City, La Union, who was first arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the authorities in Barangay Barraca, Bangar town.

Seized from him are a sachet containing alleged shabu and Php. 1,000 bill of buy bust money.

During the follow-up operation conducted by the authorities, there was a chase between the authorities and the alleged accomplice of Madrid which identified as Kenneth Diaz, 41, mechanic and a resident of Barangay Ili Norte, San Juan town.

Diaz’s vehicle was blocked and cornered by authorities along the highway in Barangay Ili Sur, San Juan, La Union.

Police were conducted search and inspection of Diaz’s vehicle, and found a hand grenade, three sachets of alleged shabu, and 5 cellphones.

Both suspects are facing charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 for allegedly possessing illicit drugs.

But there are more complaints ready for Diaz for allegedly violating Republic Act No. 9516 after the grenade was discovered in its custody.
