3rd Baguio village locked down due to ECQ violators

BAGUIO CITY – A third village here has been locked down by Mayor Benjamin Magalong on Thursday due to violations of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ). Magalong declared Barangay San Vicente to come at the heels of Barangay Fairview and Pinget village, the
last has since then opened.
But rules on the closed villages are more stringent now with its residents not allowed to go out even during the market hour’s window schedule given to each of the 128 villages.
Under such status, access to and from the barangay will be restricted including their marketing schedule except for authorized persons outside residence (APOR).
On Wednesday, Magalong publicly announced the warning to San Vicente residents.
“They cannot even go out to buy food and other stuff now. They have to ask their barangay leaders to do it for them,” said Magalong in the vernacular during Wednesday’s Ugnayan with Baguio media at the Baguio City Multi-purpose Hall, comparing the same fate to
residents of Fairview barangay.
“All entrance and exit points will be closely guarded now,” Magalong added. Magalong also warned residents of barangays East Quirino Hill and Dominican-Mirador to comply with ECQ guidelines or else suffer being locked down. An area declared locked down due to violation of the ECQ has more stringent measures compared to the areas locked down due to a confirmed Covid-19 case.
Barangay Camp 7, particularly Woodsgate, Maria Basa in Pacdal, and part of Upper Dagsian remain in lock-down status for the presence of three Covid-19 patients. The latest case is a 22-year-old female nurse at Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center.
She is a resident of Tawang village in nearby La Trinidad, Benguet. Benguet had registered three confirmed Covid-19 cases. All of them have been discharged.
