INDIVIDUAL ARRESTED FOR SELLING STOLEN CELLPHONE IN BAGUIO

An individual will now be facing charges for Violation of PD 1612 or the Anti-Fencing Law after he was arrested by Baguio cops for selling a stolen cellphone at Malcolm Square, Baguio City afternoon of
October 4, 2022. Based on the report submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN MAFELINO A BAZAR, the arrested suspect was identified as Mohammad Mamangcong Ali, 28 years old, and a resident of Upper P. Burgos, Baguio City.

According to Baguio City Police Office (CPO), they received information from an 18- year old victim who saw a phone being sold on a social media site posted by an account with a profile name “SunSun
Santos” which he identified as similar to his stolen cellphone. The victim immediately made a transaction with the seller and upon coordination with the personnel of Baguio Abanao Police Station (PS7), the operatives quickly proceeded to the designated meet-up place for an entrapment operation.

When the suspect handed the cellphone to the victim, one of the operatives arrested the suspect and upon scrutiny, they were able to identify the cellphone as the victim’s stolen phone by comparing its International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) with the phone’s container. Further, the arrested suspect and confiscated evidence were brought to the custody of BCPO Abanao Police Station (PS7) for documentation and proper disposition.

TWO DRUG PERSONALITIES BUSTED IN APAYAO

Two individuals listed as Street Level Drug Personalities will now be facing charges for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, after a search warrant that was implemented in the residence of one of the suspects yielded in the discovery of six heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu.According to the report submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN MAFELINO A BAZAR, the arrested suspects were identified as Johny Awingan De Guzman, 44, and Ridante Baggay
Mangwag, 47.

The same report disclosed that during the implementation of the search warrant, joint operatives of the Apayao Police Provincial Office (PPO) and Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU-14) discovered six heatsealed
transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing more or less 0.1366 grams with a standard drug price of Php 1, 038.16 were confiscated by the operatives.

Marking and inventory of the confiscated pieces of evidence were conducted onsite in the presence of the arrested suspects and witnessed by Pros. Zairene Kaye Cadaos of the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Barangay Kagawad Tirso C Bulayang of Brgy. Sacpil, Conner, Apayao. The suspects and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the custody of Conner Municipal Police Station for documentation
and proper disposition.
