Spy cop killed in Ilocos Norte

CAMP FLORENDO, La Union – A police intelligence officer was found dead Thursday morning inside the compartment of his car in Barangay Saludares, Dingras, Ilocos Norte. Major Julius Basallo, Dingras police chief, identified the casualty as Staff Sergeant Jackson Raymundo, 36, a resident of Puttao, Solsona, Ilocos Norte and assigned as intelligence officer of Dingras police station. Reports disclosed that the victim, who sustained several gunshot wounds on the different part of his body, was allegedly gunned down by identified men and placed his body inside the compartment of his car.

Responding policemen found the car dumped in an irrigation canal.The victim’s service firearm was also missing. Basallo said they are unaware of any threat against his policeman and they are now exerting all efforts to solve the crime. He said they are still determining the motive of the incident and for the possible identification of the suspects. Col. Julius Suriben, Ilocos Norte police director, told The STAR that they already formed a ‘special investigation task group’ to gather evidence and witnesses who could give light
on the incident.
